Central Susquehanna Sight Services

Every seven minutes, someone will become blind or visually impaired in the United States. Although estimates vary, there are currently 10 million Americans who are blind or visually impaired. The sensory deprivation of vision impairment is one of the most all-encompassing types of disabilities, requiring adaptation in almost every aspect of daily life. Central Susquehanna Sight Services (CSSS) provides Central Pennsylvania residents who are blind or visually impaired with the supportive programs and services needed to live fulfilling and self-sufficient lives in their own homes. Our vision screening and educational programs proactively target the approximately 50% of blindness that is preventable through early detection of vision problems and education on eye health. Our mission is to provide • services to the blind or visually impaired, • prevention of blindness services through vision screenings and public education, • workshop employment for people who are blind or visually impaired.
